WARCRAFT FOREVERTHE COMMUNITY DATABASE FOREVER BETA

THE DESKTOP COMPANION · WINDOWS BETA

Finish your adventure.
We’ll take it from here.

A small tray app that brings your discoveries to the community database after you close WoW.

Fieldnotes Companion

Windows 10/11 · x64 · v0.2.1 beta

Download for Windows
01

Set it up once.

Extract the ZIP and open FieldnotesCompanion.exe. Choose the Forever client folder containing WTF and Interface.

02

Verify. Switch on.

Complete the bot check and enable public contributions inside the app, then enable automatic uploads. No account is needed. You can also choose to start it with Windows.

03

Go explore.

Leave the app in your system tray. After all WoW windows close and the file finishes saving, new observations appear in the community database.

A few things to know

Install the Fieldnotes addon first. The companion reads only its saved data in the game folder you select. Repeated observations are skipped, and failed uploads can be retried safely.

The app needs Microsoft’s .NET 10 Desktop Runtime (x64) and WebView2 Runtime. This early build is unsigned. A real Forever exit-to-upload session still needs validation.

Upgrading from the private prototype pauses automatic uploads. Enable contributions again only when you want your existing saved observations and future uploads added to the public database. Previously uploaded private journals stay private.

The addon stops collecting at 5,000 records. After confirming they are in your journal, use /wfdb reset confirm in WoW to start a fresh batch. The companion never edits or clears your game files.
